How to Install the Resumez Chrome Extension Beta

The Resumez browser extension beta lets you capture job postings, compare a role with your profile, and autofill supported application forms while you browse. Until the Chrome Web Store version is available, you can install the beta manually in a few minutes.

Before you start

This is a developer beta. It does not update automatically, so you will need to download and load a newer build when one is released. Only install the package linked from the official Resumez website.

Install the extension

1. Download the latest Resumez beta.
2. Unzip the downloaded file somewhere you will keep it. Chrome needs the extracted folder, not the .zip file.
3. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome. In Edge, use edge://extensions; in Brave, use brave://extensions.
4. Turn on Developer mode in the top-right corner.
5. Select Load unpacked, then choose the extracted extension folder.
6. Pin Resumez from the browser's extensions menu so it is easy to open.

The Resumez icon should now appear in your toolbar. Open it and sign in with the same account you use on Resumez.

Updating the beta

When a new beta is announced, download and unzip the new package. Return to the browser's extensions page, remove the previous Resumez beta, and load the new folder using the same steps above.

Removing the beta

Open the extensions page, find Resumez, and select Remove. This removes the browser extension only; it does not delete your Resumez account or saved work.

What the extension does

Resumez can read supported job and application pages when you use its capture or autofill features. It never submits an application for you, does not answer demographic questions, and does not overwrite fields that already contain an answer.
